Pet eye disease: Uveitis


Uveitis is inflammation of the iris, ciliary body and choroid.

It is unfortunately a common eye problem, often presenting as a painful red eye.

There are numerous causes of uveitis, such as infections, trauma, cancers, cataracts, immune-mediated disorders. 

Prompt veterinary check-up is important to assess the eye, find out the cause, and start treatment before the condition worsens. 

If left untreated, there is a risk of blindness and glaucoma.
